Product detailed description

Sunscreen stick SPF50+ · Reapplying protection during the day

You put on sunscreen in the morning, but by midday you are still outdoors, in the mountains or out on a walk, you are wearing makeup and you don't want to apply cream over it again. PURITO Daily Soft Touch Sunscreen Stick SPF50+ is a facial sunscreen stick with declared SPF50+ and PA++++ protection. Protection comes from four chemical (organic) UV filters; the stick contains no mineral filters. Compared with a sunscreen cream, it is practical mainly for topping up protection during the day, even over makeup and without messy fingers.

Use it as the last step of your routine and reapply throughout the day. At VIONE, we recommend it mainly as a complement to a morning layer of sunscreen cream. The stick only protects when you apply enough of it. We explain how below.

  • Type: facial sunscreen stick, 20 g
  • Suitable for: reapplying SPF during the day, over makeup, for travel and the mountains
  • UV filters: Tinosorb S, Uvinul A Plus, Uvinul T 150, Parsol SLX (all chemical)
  • Fragrance-free · SPF step, in the morning and throughout the day

Routine step

Cleanse Toner / essence Serum Moisturiser Eye care SPF Exfoliation Mask

PURITO Daily Soft Touch Sunscreen Stick is the SPF step: the last step of your morning routine, after moisturiser. Reapply during the day, even over makeup.

Who the PURITO sunscreen stick is for

  • You spend time outdoors during the day and need to top up your protection without reapplying cream to your whole face.
  • You wear makeup and want SPF you can apply over it without smudging. The brand explicitly recommends the stick for this.
  • You are heading to the mountains or the water and want SPF that fits in your pocket. Snow and water reflect UV radiation.
  • Your skin is on the oily side and you don't like a shiny finish. The brand describes the stick as semi-matte.
  • You dislike the white cast that mineral filters can leave behind.

When to choose something else: you want mineral filters (zinc oxide), your skin is prone to clogged pores and waxes and oils don't suit it, or you are looking for a single morning SPF layer for your whole face. A sunscreen cream tends to be more practical then, for example Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Pure Mineral Relief Daily Sunscreen.

Texture, finish and application

  • Solid stick: the brand describes it as lightweight, with a semi-matte powdery finish and no white cast.
  • Over makeup: according to the brand, you can apply it over makeup. Reviewers report that it glides on smoothly and does not smudge makeup.
  • Fragrance-free: the formula contains no perfume, essential oils or ethanol.
  • Waxes and silicones: waxes hold the stick together, so thorough cleansing is needed in the evening.

Tip: the brand recommends not twisting the stick up more than about 0.5 cm, otherwise it may break. Store it in a cool, dry place and out of direct sunlight, for example not behind a car window.

UV filters and formula: four chemical filters, no mineral ones

  • Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine (Tinosorb S): a broad-spectrum filter that absorbs both UVA and UVB radiation.
  • Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate (Uvinul A Plus): a filter focused on UVA radiation.
  • Ethylhexyl Triazone (Uvinul T 150) and Polysilicone-15 (Parsol SLX): filters focused on UVB radiation.
  • All four filters are permitted in the EU for use in sunscreens. The actual protection, however, is not determined by the list of filters alone but by the whole formula and, above all, the amount you apply.
  • Powdery ingredients (silica, silicone powder): contribute to the semi-matte finish.
  • Conditioning ingredients: Oenanthe javanica extract (the Korean herb minari), aloe, allantoin, licorice root extract and adenosine. They round out the formula; we make no separate claims about their effects.

How to use PURITO Daily Soft Touch Sunscreen Stick

  • 1. In the morning after moisturiser: use the stick as the last step of your routine, about 15 minutes before sun exposure according to the brand.
  • 2. Apply enough: apply evenly and generously to all exposed areas. The brand's directions mention four layers, but a set number of swipes alone does not guarantee the labelled SPF50+ protection.
  • 3. Eye area: around the eyes, gently spread the product with your fingers, as the brand advises. Do not apply into the eyes.
  • 4. During the day: reapply regularly, especially after sweating, swimming or towelling. The brand also recommends the stick over makeup.
  • 5. In the evening: cleanse in two steps, first with a cleansing oil or balm, then with a gentle cleanser.
  • Morning layer or top-up only? We recommend the stick primarily for reapplying sun protection throughout the day. In the morning, we at VIONE therefore recommend applying an adequate amount of sunscreen cream. If you want to use the stick as your only morning layer, what matters is applying it evenly and generously, not the number of swipes.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about PURITO Daily Soft Touch Sunscreen Stick SPF50+

Can the stick replace sunscreen cream?

Not always. The protection stated on sunscreen packaging is measured with 2 mg of product applied per cm² of skin, which is quite a large amount for the face. That amount is harder to apply with a stick than with a cream. We recommend the stick primarily for reapplying sun protection throughout the day. Apply evenly and generously to all exposed areas. A set number of swipes alone does not guarantee the labelled SPF50+ protection. Reapply regularly, especially after sweating, swimming or towelling. In the morning, ideally pair it with an adequate amount of sunscreen cream.

Is it a chemical or a mineral sunscreen?

Chemical. The stick contains four chemical (organic) UV filters: Tinosorb S, Uvinul A Plus, Uvinul T 150 and Parsol SLX. It contains no mineral filters, i.e. no zinc oxide or titanium dioxide. The brand states that it leaves no white cast. If you prefer mineral filters, choose a zinc-based cream in our SPF & sunscreens category.

How soon do I need to reapply the stick?

We cannot give you an exact time. It depends on how much product you applied, how strong the sun is, and whether you sweat, swim or wipe your face. As a general rule, sunscreen needs to be reapplied repeatedly while you are outdoors, and always after swimming, sweating and towelling off. The brand recommends applying the stick about 15 minutes before sun exposure.

Is the stick water-resistant?

We do not independently confirm this product's water resistance. Reapply after swimming, sweating or towelling. For use in water, choose a sunscreen with substantiated water-resistance claims.

What do SPF50+ and PA++++ mean?

SPF indicates protection mainly against UVB radiation, which causes sunburn. PA++++ is the Japanese and Korean rating for UVA protection; four plus signs are the highest level on this scale. Both values are the brand's declarations and only apply when you use an adequate amount.

How is it different from the AXIS-Y and Haruharu sunscreens?

The main differences are the format and the type of filters. AXIS-Y Complete No-Stress Physical Sunscreen SPF 50+ is a zinc-based sunscreen cream. Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Pure Mineral Relief Daily Sunscreen is a fragrance-free mineral sunscreen cream with zinc. PURITO is a stick with chemical filters and no mineral ones. A cream makes it easier to apply an adequate amount in the morning; the stick is more practical for topping up during the day. You can combine both.

Who is the stick not for, and when should I choose another product?

Skip the stick if you only want mineral filters or have a confirmed allergy to any of its ingredients, for example licorice root, aloe or broccoli extract. It contains isopropyl myristate, waxes and silicones. If your skin is prone to clogged pores, watch how it reacts to the stick. Individual tolerance varies. If your skin starts burning, itching or turning red after application, stop using newly introduced products and return to a simple, well-tolerated routine. Consult a dermatologist if symptoms persist.

Is the stick vegan, and can I use it during pregnancy?

The brand describes the stick as vegan and cruelty-free. The brand gives no information on pregnancy or breastfeeding. We recommend talking to your doctor and showing them the ingredient list below.

What to pair the PURITO sunscreen stick with

Practical tip: keep the stick in your bag or jacket pocket. Protection is most often neglected in the afternoon, when the morning layer has long worn off.
