Product detailed description

Azelaic acid serum · Oily skin and red spots

Your skin gets shiny, the occasional spot appears, and it leaves behind a red or darker mark that is slow to fade. Dr. Ceuracle Azelaic 10 & Madeca Ampoule is a serum with azelaic acid, at 10% according to the brand. It is listed as Azelaic Acid, meaning the acid itself rather than a derivative. Panthenol and madecassoside from centella round out a short formula without fragrance or alcohol.

Azelaic acid may help improve the appearance of uneven skin tone and reduce the visibility of redness. It can tingle or sting at first, so introduce it gradually and always wear SPF in the morning. At VIONE, we recommend it as one targeted serum in an otherwise simple routine.

  • Type: ampoule (serum) with azelaic acid, 30 ml
  • Suitable for: oily and combination skin prone to blemishes, red spots, post-blemish marks, uneven tone
  • Key ingredients: azelaic acid (10% according to the brand), panthenol, madecassoside
  • Fragrance-free · Serum step, introduce gradually, always with SPF in the morning

Routine step

Cleanse Toner / essence Serum Moisturiser Eye care SPF Exfoliation Mask

Dr. Ceuracle Azelaic 10 & Madeca Ampoule is the Serum step: after toner, before moisturiser. Always finish with SPF in the morning.

Who the Dr. Ceuracle azelaic acid serum is for

  • Your skin gets shiny quickly and is prone to blemishes. You are looking for a targeted, fragrance-free serum.
  • Spots leave red or darker marks behind and you want your tone to look more even.
  • You have red areas on your cheeks and around your nose and want them to be less visible.
  • You want to try azelaic acid in a cosmetic serum with a short ingredient list.
  • You wear SPF every morning, or you are ready to start.

When to choose something else: your skin is currently irritated or broken, you have a confirmed allergy to propylene glycol, or you have a diagnosed skin condition and haven't yet discussed your skincare with a dermatologist.

Texture and skin feel

  • Lightweight texture: retailers describe it as smooth, fast-absorbing and non-greasy, with no filmy feel.
  • Fragrance-free and alcohol-free: no perfume, essential oils or ethanol in the formula.
  • Tingling at first: mild, short-lived tingling or stinging is common with azelaic acid in the first weeks. If burning persists, intensifies or significant redness develops, rinse off the serum and discontinue use.

Tip: the brand recommends following the ampoule with a generous amount of moisturiser. It helps keep your skin comfortable, especially in the first weeks.

Key ingredients: azelaic acid, panthenol and madecassoside

  • Azelaic acid, 10% according to the brand: an acid used in skincare for oily, blemish-prone skin, the look of red spots and uneven tone. It may help even out the look of your skin tone. Azelaic acid is also used in medicinal products at higher concentrations. This ampoule is a cosmetic product and does not replace medical treatment.
  • Panthenol (provitamin B5): helps keep the skin hydrated and ease a tight feeling. Read more in our glossary entry on panthenol.
  • Madecassoside: one of the main compounds of centella, used in skincare for its soothing properties. In this formula it is a supporting conditioning ingredient.
  • Hydrating ingredients: glycerin, sugars (glucose, fructose and fructooligosaccharides), sugarcane extract and an extract of the red seaweed Chondrus crispus.
  • Chlorella, cocoa extract and vitamin E (tocopherol): supporting conditioning ingredients.

How to use Dr. Ceuracle Azelaic 10 & Madeca Ampoule

  • 1. Cleanse: a gentle cleanser; in the evening, if you wear SPF or makeup, start with a cleansing oil.
  • 2. Toner: ideally a soothing or hydrating one, without exfoliating acids.
  • 3. Ampoule: apply a small amount as directed by the brand to your face, avoiding the eye area and lips, and spread gently.
  • 4. Moisturiser: a generous amount of hydrating cream, as the brand recommends.
  • 5. SPF in the morning: as the last step. Sun exposure makes darker marks and redness more noticeable.
  • Getting started: for sensitive skin, the brand recommends starting once or twice a week and gradually increasing frequency. You can use the ampoule in the morning or in the evening. If you use a retinoid, apply the ampoule in the morning or alternate them on different evenings.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about Dr. Ceuracle Azelaic 10 & Madeca Ampoule

Does the ampoule really contain azelaic acid, or just a derivative?

The ingredient list names azelaic acid (Azelaic Acid), and the brand states a concentration of 10%. Many products with "azelaic" in their name contain the derivative Potassium Azeloyl Diglycinate instead, which is a different ingredient. Even so, the performance of the ampoule can't be inferred from the concentration of a single ingredient; it depends on the whole formula and on your skin.

Will the ampoule sting? How should I start?

Mild, temporary tingling may occur after application. If burning persists, intensifies or significant redness develops, rinse off the serum and discontinue use. Try the ampoule on a small area first. Start once or twice a week and increase the frequency gradually according to your skin's tolerance. Follow the ampoule with a hydrating moisturiser. Consult a dermatologist if symptoms persist.

How soon will I see a difference?

You will feel the light, non-greasy texture as soon as you apply it. Changes in the look of red spots and skin tone cannot be guaranteed within a specific timeframe: it depends on their cause, on wearing SPF consistently and on how your skin responds to the ampoule. If it suits you, use it regularly and give it time.

Why does SPF belong with this ampoule in the morning?

Sun exposure is one of the main triggers of darker marks and makes post-blemish marks and redness more noticeable. Daily UV protection is therefore an important part of caring for uneven skin tone. Use SPF 50 as the last step of your morning routine, even in winter and on cloudy days.

Can I combine the ampoule with retinal, PHA or kojic acid?

Not in the same evening routine. Don't use the ampoule on the same evening as Arencia Retinal Booster Shot, Sungboon Editor Green Tomato Pore Lifting Ampoule+ (which contains a PHA) or Sungboon Editor Kojic Acid Niacinamide Brightening Ampoule. The same applies to other retinoids, AHA/BHA acids and benzoyl peroxide. Alternate them on different evenings, or use this ampoule in the morning with SPF and the retinoid in the evening. Introduce new products one at a time, not all at once.

How is it different from Beauty of Joseon Glow Deep Serum?

Both serums are used to care for uneven skin tone. Beauty of Joseon Glow Deep Serum Rice + Alpha Arbutin is based on rice bran water and alpha-arbutin. The Dr. Ceuracle ampoule contains azelaic acid (10% according to the brand) with panthenol and madecassoside and is intended mainly for oily skin with red spots. It needs to be introduced gradually, as it can tingle at first. If you are mainly looking for a brightening serum for skin tone, choose Beauty of Joseon. If oily skin with red spots is your main concern, Dr. Ceuracle makes sense.

Who is the ampoule not for, and when should I choose another product?

Skip the ampoule if your skin is currently irritated, broken or has recently undergone a cosmetic procedure, if you have a confirmed allergy to propylene glycol (Propylene Glycol), or if you need a single product for very dry skin. If you have diagnosed acne, rosacea or another skin condition, discuss your skincare with a dermatologist; cosmetics do not replace medical treatment. If your skin mainly needs calm and hydration, choose a gentler serum from our barrier & sensitivity range.

Can I use the ampoule during pregnancy?

The brand gives no information on pregnancy. We recommend discussing the ampoule with your doctor during pregnancy and breastfeeding and showing them the ingredient list below.
